About the Show

The last time Sam saw his brother Jake, they were carousing Brooklyn as one another's ultimate wing man. Years later Sam returns to Brooklyn to find the fun loving Jake has transformed into a studious born-again Jewish scholar. They will discover that just as the body can not live without the heart, religion can not live without the family, and redemption from the sins of the past can only come by rediscovering that which was disavowed.

A family meditation on religious themes. A broken family on the brink. Cain and Abel never had it this hard.

Reviews & Testimonials

"What playwright Joseph Sousa really gets at in this taut, thoroughly credible one-act drama is a clear-eyed examination of atonement and redemption, of the complexity of everyday emotion and moral choice, and of what it really takes to lead an ethical life."

"...the play is so full of coarse humor, wrenching emotions and philosophical weight that it's well worth seeking out."
Marty Hughley, The Oregonian
